This winter and spring, join Awake in monthly bilingual STEAM adventures when school is out! Students in 1st-6th grade will explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math through playful learning activities such as constructing a domino run, mixing up science in the kitchen, exploring nature and more. Explorations are created to develop an interest and enthusiasm for math and science. Each activity comes with materials to continue the fun long after the session is over!

Get your young child active early to help stimulate brain development and social skills. The Berwyn Park District is offering early childhood programs that are a perfect outlet for your little one. From parent/child programming to independent activities, there are a variety of virtual and in-person options. Inquire about preschool programs as well! The Berwyn Public Library is taking it one step further to keep your little ones active with their boredom bags! What’s a Boredom Bag? Bags filled with boredom-busting items and activities! 3 types of bags to suit every age: Ages 0-5, Ages 6-10, & Ages 11-14. Each bag contains a craft featured on our YouTube channel. The Children’s Center of Cicero Berwyn is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit that provides a nurturing, developmentally appropriate atmosphere for children, and supports parents and caregivers in their critical role as their child’s first teacher. The Children’s Center respects the child as a unique and special individual. They support families to help their children enjoy life and learn to accept themselves, as well as others and prepare them for academic success. They provide educational, play-based childcare, full and half day Head Start and Preschool for all classrooms and home-based, child development and parenting programs.

All programs are bilingual! Most programs are FREE to qualifying families. With 13 programs at 9 different sites, they proudly serve families from Cicero, Berwyn and ALL the surrounding communities. Whether on the playground or at the bus stop, a common topic of conversation among parents is how challenging it has become to raise young girls. The Latinas On The Plaza Little Arrows Program (A.R.R.O.W.S) unleashes the ARROWS in every girl to help her prepare for her future. Latinas on the Plaza wants her to know Who She Is, and the Value she brings to the world. They offer two programs: Little Arrows I for girls ages 4-6 (Preschool-Kindergarten), and Little Arrows II for girls ages 7-8 (First Grade). Live and virtual programs are available.
