Berwyn rises to top of Cook County (and beats inflation) for income growth

According to a study by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) and as reported by Crain’s Chicago Business, income growth in metro Chicago has lagged the nation, but just how much depends on where you live. The good news is that Berwyn township has weathered the post-recession storm quite well, topping Cook County for median income growth!

At 10.8% income growth, Berwyn outpaces the nation’s 4% growth as well as neighboring communities like Oak Park (8.9%) and Chicago (2.2%). What’s more, Berwyn is just one of 1o townships in metro Chicago that were able to overtake the 10.3% inflation rate.
