Short PERSONAL Bio: I have 11 years of experience in the fitness industry, exceeding over 30,000 hours of personal training, group training, classes and boot camps. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, running, biking, camping, obstacle races and anything that is a challenge.  When I’m not active, I love watching movies and spending quality time with my wife.

Short BUSINESS Bio: After losing over 75 lbs, I wanted to help others change their lives. Strive 4 Fitness began simply with outdoor boot camps and with strength and numbers, we started Strive 4 Fitness. Although we started off in Brookfield, we noticed Berwyn didn’t have a personalized fitness studio, so finding our current Berwyn location north of the hospital seemed like the perfect opportunity to go for it. We live by the 3 P’s: people, passion, and personable. The story behind Strive is helping real people overcome barriers and showing them that it’s possible to transform into who you really want to be. We offer a range of classes including boot camps, cycle ‘n’ hiit, kickboxing, Strive trio (spin, trx, yoga), yoga sculpt, kettle ‘n’ hiit sculpt, and more. Our classes are structured as 30/45/60 minute fat burning workouts. People like to mix things up, so there are class changes every 6 weeks to shake up the body and keep everyone engaged.

Describe yourself using 3 words and explain why you chose those words.
While working out, no matter how hard a workout is, you have to have fun and make people laugh to take their mind off the “pain”.
Strong: I’ve been knocked down many times and have faced obstacles in life, but I never let them stop me. I took all of the negatives and turned them into positives. Only the strong survive.
Passion: I still to this day get chills while instructing a class, setting up an event for our members and participating in races.  My drive is to keep improving, so I will never stop moving forward. This is my destiny.

What inspires you?
I’m inspired by individuals who have changed and excelled in life. My wife and business partner Victoria especially inspires me to keep striving forward. Waking up knowing I’m doing something I love is an amazing feeling.

Tell us something that people might not know about you.
Something some may not know about me is that I’ve run an ultra-marathon, standard marathons, fought MMA, powerlifted, rock climbed First Flat Iron, hiked Mt. Whitney, backpacked Yosemite, and I even used to work at McDonald’s as a teen.

What is your fondest memory?
Childhood baseball was the best time of my life, especially given the friends I made, playing a sport that I loved, finding my competitive nature, and having my dad as a coach.

Which person from history would you most like to meet?
Theodore Roosevelt for his betterment of creating National Parks (I love the mountains).

Which time period would you visit in history?
The era of Al Capone is definitely interesting to me, especially the fashion, cars, and the mafia for flourishing during the great depression.

Get spooky on Saturday, October 21 at the Spooky Shuffle event in Proksa Park! Strive 4 Fitness and Berwyn Park District will host a “shuffle” around Proksa Park in a 2+ mile course for participants, all while dressed in a spooky costume! All participants will receive a T-Shirt, Medal, Swag Bag and special prizes for best dressed kids and adults. The event is open to all ages (16 and under must be accompanied by adult) and all levels of physical fitness!
