Horrorbles welcomes SNS Photography Exhibit in October

Horrorbles will host an opening reception for photographer James Sorfleet of SNS-Photo on Saturday, September 29 from 7:00pm-10:00pm. The exhibit will be on site for the month of October. James Sorfleet is a self-taught photographer, practicing since the age of 16.

Sorfleet’s images are meant to illicit a response & intended to seize the attention of the viewer and conceivably force one to peer deep inside, visiting the aspects of themselves that are often avoided, excluded or ignored. The unique muse-like qualities of each one of the models depicted in his work has also played a role in his artistic vision. All displayed pieces will be available for sale with James present all evening!

Horrorbles is the brainchild of self described horror and sci-fi fanatic John Aranza. Aranza, who is lovingly known by many of his loyal fans as “Monster Man,” has grown the business into a cult favorite over the past few years. With a knack for finding the most obscure collectible request and a reputation for creating singular events, such as signings and film festivals featuring icons of the genre, such as Patricia Neal of The Day the Earth Stood Still, artist and illustrator Basil Gogos, Ricou Browning, “the man in the suit” from The Creature from The Black Lagoon, Tura Satana famous for her roles in Russ Meyer films such as Faster Pussycat, Kill Kill!, Aranza has become a central figure in the Chicago horror community.

Horrorbles in not your old school, dusty, collectibles shop.  Currently featuring hard to find and out of print classic movie titles, original lobby cards and posters from classic films, models, figurines, original books & magazines as well as apparel, jewelry, new magazines and literature, and novelty gifts as well as the gallery and lifestyle additions which have just been introduced.

About his newly expanded realm of terror, Aranza says, “This is the latest piece of what I hope will be an ongoing endeavor to bring the best and most exciting experience to true horror and sci-fi fans in a personal and unique setting.”
