Autre Monde Cafe & Spirits opens on Roosevelt Road

Berwyn might not be the first place that comes to mind when you’re thinking about a European-style cafe and wine bar. But that’s about to change.

Autre Monde Cafe & Spirits, the newest restaurant on Roosevelt Road, is the brain-child of John & Christine Aranza and chefs Dan Pancake and Beth Partridge. The four met when working for Tony Mantuano, internationally-acclaimed chef / partner at Chicago’s Spiaggia restaurant and James Beard Award winner.

The casual trattoria boasts a menu inspired by the Mediterranean flavors of Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Croatia, Greece and Morocco. What’s more, the cafe is proud of its farm-to-table sourcing of high quality ingredients, which is complemented by fresh produce grown in their greenhouse out back (18 different tomato varieties!). A varied and affordable wine selection is available with many of the wines sold by the glass. Late kitchen hours are available for Roosevelt Road music lovers on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
