Houby Fest will turn Berwyn’s Main Street into a Czech Oasis from Oct 4-7
Berwyn’s Houby Festival is a celebration of Berwyn’s and Cicero’s Czech heritage. Pronounced “ho•bee,” the festival centers around the Czech and Slovak word for mushroom, which was the object of a hunting tradition and a significant part of the Czech diet. And 44 years later, both Berwyn and Cicero are continuing their tradition of exalting the mushroom with a long weekend of live music, eating and imbibing, carnival riding, parade watching and vendor/crafter shopping.
The 44th Annual Houby Fest will take place from October 4-7, 2012. Berwyn Main Street will host the Czech Oasis at Cermak Road & Lombard Avenue. See the map below for details.
